Kitchen Garden Program
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program at St Aloysius School presents a wonderful learning platform for the children as they share in 'pleasurable' food experiences and develop an understanding of environmental sustainability by growing their own produce.
The Kitchen Garden Program inspires the children as it a ‘real life’ food education experience, the children are involved in every step, they are not just learning about how to produce food, they are experiencing it … and loving it!
In the garden, the children work together in small groups, to experience all the elements required to grow and produce fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs. They delight in the simple joy of digging the soil, planting seedlings, composting and ultimately harvesting their own glorious produce.
In the Kitchen, the children research recipes to create nutritious dishes inspired by their fresh harvest and then enjoy the social pleasure of preparing and sharing their seasonal food together.

Our Oval Development looks amazing and is almost complete. The photos featured provide an insight into the development. We have created a large flat space with three soccer fields going across and AFL posts at each end. A two lane athletic track encircles the space. We will then landscape the areas to the north and south of our oval to complete the works.
